8 Furniture and Design Trends to Watch in 2026

As 2025 comes to a close and we transition into the second half of the 2020’s, we turn our eye to the future to predict what’s next in the world of furniture and design. Though minimalism has had an unmistakable impact on interior design in the contemporary era, we’re also noticing a movement toward spaces that are more expressive, bold, colorful, and tailored to the occupants’ personalities. Below, find our list of trends we’re seeing on the furniture and design scene that are poised to make a big splash in 2026.

1. Colorful Neutrals

Move over, monochrome – homeowners are craving more color in their interiors. The past few years have seen a resurgence of bold and moody hues on furnishings, walls, and accessories, and we see this preference continuing to hold strong in the new year.

Of particular note is the swapping out of monochrome neutrals for colors that serve the same anchoring function with a more vibrant twist. For instance, one might use deep blue instead of black, olive green instead of grey, or warm sand instead of white. Our Liliana Sectional in olive leather has a brown undertone that lets it complement a range of warm color palettes. Or, try the Blios Sofa in muted blue for a cooler color temperature.

2. Texture & Pattern Play

Texture and pattern have been playing a bigger role in home interiors, and we love to see it. In 2026, we anticipate that these elements will become even more prominent, acting not just as accents, but as a foundation for rich, multidimensional spaces. Expect to see multiple patterns and/or textures layered within a room in a way that’s immersive rather than chaotic. This trend is even extending to walls in the form of peel-and-stick wallpaper or tactile wall washes.

If you’re craving texture in your home, we recommend the Andria Sofa, featuring velvet upholstery with soft ridges you’ll love running your fingers across. For the bedroom, the Italian-made Pascal Bed is clad in boucle and leather for a sumptuous feeling. The Zig Storage Console skillfully blends both texture and color with its fluted front in deep merlot. If patterns are more your style, we recommend an eye-catching rug like the Bayshore Granada, paired with a whimsical sculpture in the same color palette, like the Star Lady.

3. Vintage Finds

The future of design will draw plenty of inspiration from the past. Homeowners are increasingly browsing antique shops and flea markets, or bringing out family heirlooms, to add uniqueness and character to their space. What’s more, vintage items are often a great choice for sustainability – many such pieces are made with fine craftsmanship that has allowed them to last for decades and to endure plenty more years of use.

4. Gallery Walls

Eclectic and full of personality, gallery walls are the perfect way to present a curated vision of your singular artistic taste. Try blending a variety of visual works like art prints, postcards, or family photos to create a mosaic of what sparks joy and inspiration for you. You may also want to experiment with varying the sizes and shapes of artworks and frames to make your display feel dynamic.

5. Modern Tuscan

Imagine the ideal blend of Old-World sophistication, contemporary sleekness, and rustic warmth – that’s the heart of Modern Tuscan. Rooted in traditional design styles from the Italian countryside, the Modern Tuscan aesthetic is full of comforting earth tones and natural finishes. Think of clay brown, rust orange, and ivory, paired with wood, stone, and wrought iron.

Modern Tuscan is more understated than its traditional variant, with an emphasis on cleanness, subtlety, and functionality. The Napoleon Dining Table by Cattelan Italia is a prime example of this style, featuring rounded lines and a stone-like top in beige ceramic. Complete the look with the matching Amsterdam Sideboard, featuring a paneled front and curving steel legs, and the Blanton Bowls in taupe with a raw, rustic texture.

6. Sculptural Curves

A popular design trend in both 2024 and 2025, curves are another element we think will have staying power. Furnishings and accessories with rounded, sinuous lines provide a softer and more inviting look compared to the straight lines and angled corners of earlier years.

In 2026, we anticipate bolder and less conventional curved silhouettes with a sculptural feel to them. For instance, the Papel Dining Table has a stunning steel base inspired by the fluidity of ocean waves. Offering great value for price, the Bryson Swivel Chair features a seat back and arms with a shapely, winged look.

7. Wellness Spaces

With our lives becoming increasingly busy and hectic, dedicating both time and space to self-care is more important than ever. It is becoming more common to repurpose spare rooms or unused nooks into areas dedicated to physical and mental revitalization. Whether you outfit your wellness space with an exercise mat and yoga ball, or a comfy recliner and a side table for tea, the end goal of such a space should always be to make you feel more refreshed and relaxed.

We highly recommend the Stressless® Adam Recliner for those looking to introduce more comfort into their routine. The first zero-gravity chair from Stressless® of Norway, this supremely ergonomic power recliner can elevate your legs above your heart for a sensation of weightlessness.

8. Outdoor Spaces

An emphasis on outdoor spaces goes hand in hand with the biophilic design movement that has left a powerful mark on contemporary design. Homeowners are seeking ways to not only bring the outdoors in – but also bring the indoors out. Creating dedicated outdoor spaces for activities like lounging, dining, and entertaining enhances our connection to nature and by extension, helps increase our sense of well-being.

HOUE of Denmark is a high regarded maker of durable and stylish furniture for outdoor spaces. Try the Leaf Dining Table, with a rounded triangular top in sustainable bamboo, paired with the Click Chair featuring flexible, UV-resistant slats. The Portable Outdoor Lamp keeps the fun going after dark, with a wireless, solar-powered design and three brightness settings.

From maximalist makeovers to nature-inspired retreats, we envision homes in 2026 to be vibrant sanctuaries that reflect the spirit of the occupants within. Visit your local Copenhagen or shop online to explore what’s next in the world of design.
