From Cloud Dancer to Silhouette: A Rundown of 2026 Colors of the Year

With the start of a new year comes fresh trends, unexpected styles, and a kaleidoscope of color selections from companies that are industry leaders in art and design. Pantone, for instance, is well-known for their much-anticipated Color of the Year, while paint companies like Sherwin-Williams and social media platforms like Pinterest also generate plenty of buzz with their picks. Each analyzes colors that are emerging in popularity across the consumer landscape and chooses one (or more) that they think will make an even bigger splash in the year to come.

Since we love staying abreast of trends in modern furniture and design, we’ve compiled a list of this year’s results, accompanied by similar-hued Copenhagen furnishings that match the vibe. Whether you’re a dedicated color enthusiast or merely curious, 2026’s color choices are sure to spark discussion.

Classic Neutrals

In a sea of shades, some brands are opting to distinguish themselves by going back to basics. Simple neutrals are coming into vogue again for those of us rediscovering a love for their understated nature and relaxing qualities.

Pantone took many by surprise this year with their choice of Cloud Dancer, an off-white that they call “a symbol of calming influence in a society rediscovering the value of quiet reflection… [Its] versatility provides scaffolding for the color spectrum, allowing all colors to shine.” If you’re looking for a similar atmosphere, our Bella Vita bedroom collection is finished in high-gloss white lacquer with crisp lines for a feeling of modern serenity. Additionally, our Tanya Sectional in white leather offers a hub of relaxation for your living room that can coordinate with a range of different styles.

For Sherwin-Williams, Universal Khaki was the winner for 2026. “This mid-tone neutral with a slight yellow undertone embodies the satisfying simplicity at the core of contemporary comfort,” they state. Indeed, shades of khaki, beige, and sand are staple hues within modern design, as seen in pieces like the Kinsley Sectional in light mocha leather or the Aarhus Dining Chair, whose neutral upholstery is accented with walnut legs. For the office, our Rilega collection in recycled wood with an artisan oak finish blends modular functionality with a clean, timeless look.

Reimagined Earth Tones

Earth tones are well-loved for their ability to bring a cozy, grounding ambiance to interiors. In 2026, many of these colors are being filtered through a new lens that produces unique takes on classic shades of brown.

“A distinctive color that weaves luxurious burnt umber with delicate notes of charcoal” is how Benjamin Moore describes their color of the year, Silhouette. This elegant and distinguished grey-brown is “reminiscent of tailored suiting” and adds a refined presence to a room that’s a creative alternative to traditional black or grey. The Andria Loveseat gives off a similarly stylish vibe with its dark taupe upholstery enhanced by tufted stitching. For the bedroom, the Julian Dresser boasts a striated ceramic marble top in dark grey and brown that provides a moody contrast to the Canaletto walnut drawers.

On the brighter side of the spectrum is Glidden’s Warm Mahogany, described as “a rich, grounded red that’s bold enough to draw immediate attention and reserved enough to make a timeless statement.” This reddish-brown hue especially shines in communal spaces like living and dining rooms, creating an environment that fosters warmth and connection. You can achieve a similar feel with the terracotta Dana Sofa in easy-care, family-friendly leather. Or, add a pop of brightness with the striped Omaggio Nuovo Vase in terracotta, white, and brown.

Dreamy Greens and Blues

With the increasing popularity of biophilic design, outdoor living areas, and spaces dedicated to wellbeing, it’s no surprise that greens and blues are dominating many color palettes in the 2020’s – often in subdued versions that speak directly to earthy aesthetics.

A prime example is Behr’s Hidden Gem. “A smoky jade with an air of mystery and sophistication, this rich, dynamic color creates spaces that feel both grounded and alive,” their site says. Curate your own version of this alluring shade with dusty green or teal, like that of the Prato Sectional with walnut side panels, or the hand-blown Knot Vase.

Warm Eucalyptus, a muted green by Valspar, pairs beautifully with Hidden Gem and other nature-themed colors. Valspar states that mindful living was a major inspiration for their choice, specifically when it comes to “slowing down time and injecting restorative design to appreciate small moments.” Shades of earthy green are having an especially big resurgence at Copenhagen this year, as seen in many of our new acquisitions. Take the Liliana or Blios seating in olive green leather, or the moss green Modena Sofa, fresh from Italy. Our Atrium Dining Table brings awe-inspiring beauty to every meal with its green and brown ceramic top.

Reflecting the vibrancy of water, sky, and minerals is Etsy’s Patina Blue, perfect for warm weather. “Inspired by copper’s natural aging process, it embodies the quiet magic of change and the way materials evolve as they’re lived-in and loved,” states the Etsy site. You too can embrace this tranquil ambiance with adjacent shades of dusty blue, turquoise, or cerulean. We recommend the ocean blue Remington Sofa with power motion, or the Ripple Console, complete with a textured wave pattern.

Multifaceted Palettes

It’s also worth noting that for some, a single color of the year isn’t enough to capture the complex, shifting nature of our aesthetic landscape. Enter the rise of multi-hued color palettes of the year, as well as selections that pair color with texture.

For instance, Etsy has chosen Washed Linen as its texture of the year to accompany Patina Blue. Driven by an exponential rise in Etsy searches for linen clothing, this texture reflects an affinity for natural materials that are both comfortable and quietly luxurious. Going beyond apparel, linen can add a relaxed feel to home decor too, as seen in the Como Lamp, whose chrome and brass base is crowned by a white linen shade.

Last but not least, Pinterest has chosen the quintet of Cool Blue, Jade, Plum Noir, Wasabi, and Persimmon for 2026. This powerful palette encompasses everything from icy blue and subdued green, to midnight purple, to bright chartreuse and saturated orange. Whether you’re spearheading a style refresh or simply curating bold looks, this palette serves up dynamism and daring contrast. Our Italian-made Namy Chair matches the aura, with its playful multicolor fabric perfect for jazzing up a plain corner.
